Using Index Cards to Study 

Studying plays a major part in the role of a student.  A student is expected to learn, and he can prove that he has thru quizzes and exams.  There are different types of students, with varying intellectual capacity, discipline, learning rate, and more.  Not all students benefit from the same studying approach, and if you really want to prove yourself as a student, you have to know what particular study style suits you.  One of the popular studying systems is the index card system. 

Using the Index Card System 

The index card system is quite an effective way of studying.  It can be used to assess yourself on how well you know about a particular subject matter.  The first step is to write a single question per index card.  On the back of the card, you will then write the appropriate answer or explanation in regards to the question you’ve written on the other side of the card.  You’ll be using your materials for reference in regards to the answers, and you can even put the answers on the card based on your own words and understanding.  Once you’ve made several of these cards, you will then shuffle them and look at the questions one by one and try to answer them.  If ever you are not able to answer a question, you can simply take a look at the other side to remind yourself of the correct answer or explanation.  Repeat this process several times and in no time, you’ll be able to answer every question.

Using index cards to study is indeed a very effective way of learning.  You can do it almost anywhere.  You’ll be able to test your knowledge on the subject anytime.  You can carry the index cards with you since they’re pretty handy.  As you go along your usual routines in the day, you can pick a card from time to time for a little review.  Using the cards with your classmates can prove to be a fruitful experience, not only for you, but for them as well.  You can help each other out when one of you can’t exactly put into words his answers. Using index cards to study is not only effective, but it can be fun as well.  Every time you get an answer right, you’ll feel a bit more fulfilled inside.  You’ll be then be confident enough to get through that upcoming exam as long as you spend some time with the system.
