Making After-School Hours Count
The life of a student is not at all an easy one. You have to constantly prepare yourself for your class in order to keep up. While in your class, you are learning through the lectures and discussions your teachers or professors give. But sometimes, you just have to ask yourself if the time you spend in class is enough to keep up. The truth is that it isn’t. To make sure that you absorb anything they throw at you, you should make your after-school hours count.
After School
Right after your last subject, it’s a good thing to head straight home. Sure, you can hang out with your buddies for a few minutes or so, but don’t go over the line. Getting home earlier will prove to be a wise decision since you’ll have more time to rest before dinner. Right after dinner, you should then start digging in your textbooks and notes. Not only should you make your assignments, you should also read on ahead to make sure that you are prepared for the next day of class. It sure does pay to read in advance. You won’t have a hard time keeping up with everyone else thus improving your confidence. Taking notes during class is very important. You should jot down any key information so that you don’t forget them. You can use your notes to review yourself once you get home. If you use textbooks during class, you can write on your textbooks and go have a look at them at home.
Why Study After School
The main reason that you would want to study after school is that your performance in school shapes your future. With better grades, you are opening a lot of opportunities for yourself in the future that will not be available otherwise. Studying at home after school helps you to store the key information during the class discussions in your long term memory. You will also be able to reduce the anxiety students feel when they come to school with an upcoming test or exam. Studying after school basically means preparing for the next school day. With you being prepared, you will not have any trouble keeping up with the rest of the class. It is up to you on how to spend your after-school hours, but keep in mind that spending it on your academics is never a bad thing. |
